The Gruccione from Nunzio Ghiraldi is produced from Lugana grapes [100%]. It is brilliant yellow in colour with golden greenish highlights; it clings well to the sides of the glass. Its aroma is marked by a delicate, fresh, intense, elegant hit of ripe green fruit (apple, pineapple, kiwi), completed by an intense floral bouquet (thyme and sage). It leaves you with openly fresh and spicy sensations (a little minty) and a slightly flinty scent.
The flavour: dry, warm and sapid with the flavour of fruit that the nose has already detected; an excellent and pleasant balance which gives the clear sensation of a fresh acidic streak, prolonging the pleasant flavour in the mouth. The aftertaste is of almond and toasted spices that remind one of sweet pipe tobacco and the fumé of Alsatian wines with a slight mineral element.
The Gruccione is perfect for aperitifs on special occasions; it can be paired extremely well with baked tench and with fish and seafood risottos and with white meat (chicken, rabbit, veal with tuna fish sauce).
